right, US has its own oil. For us in Europe though, electric is the solution. I rather walk than make the ME richer than they already are. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:20 pm
No you don't. Walking sucks. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:24 pm
Hydrogen made sense a few years ago cost-wise. Now, it is the equivalent of 4MPG gas in my area in terms of cost per mile. Hydrogen prices have more than doubled since a few months ago. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:24 pm
fusion energy solves that problem Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:29 pm This video is out of date and she has a bunch of errors in it First of alll, she focuses on Q>1. Anyone working in fusion knows you need Q>10 because you need to cover the total energy needed. We already have Q>1 and we need Q>10 on a sustained basis. Also, she blows it when she says that heat needs to be converted into electricity. She is talking about some fusion reactors. The promising one from Helion (watch some videos on that) converts to electric directly from the magnetic field and not heat. She is talking standard tomahawk designs. This is another click bait "click below" with ads. It is sad because she used to do better physics videos and now she's just in it for the clicks. Also her view, as well as a number of other physicists view, on Many World is naive. It is really the only theory that makes sense. She says "well, you can't test it". It's like anything you can't test right now, you never can test. Fatalistic view and that is really silly when you are a physicist. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:32 pm
She focuses in ITER and doesn't know shit about all the investments and different tech going on in the industry. Wish she has spent more time on the video. If you want to see current state of the art, watch videos/read up on just these two
Commonwealth Fusion Helion And there are about 100 more. Dismissing the tech because of ITER is fucking stupid. ITER isn't relevant any more at all. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:34 pm
https://www.motortrend.com/features/truth-about-electric-cars-ad-why-you-are-being-lied-to/ Multiple credible studies show that an EVs' break-even point on emissions (including the vehicle's production, transport to you and indirect smokestack emissions) is under two years. In other words, after you've an electric SUV for 1.9 years, you are producing less pollution than an equivalent gas/diesel powered vehicles. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:37 pm
Until you need a new battery. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:39 pm
Here's Helion
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_bDXXWQxK38 Here's Commonwealth (basically/commonwealth is MIT) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8uYNhevRtk Commonwealth raised 250M in funding last year and just did a Series B for 1.8B. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:46 pm
Most modern EV batteries will outlast the car itself. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:49 pm
Chunk lithium, chink cobalt, chink electronics, Russian gas and oil. Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:50 pm

Who funded these “credible studies”? Unregistered Posted 1/14/2023 5:54 pm
We will drive around, little driver cabs attached to giant lumbering hydrogen tanks that scoot us along, and a rack in front for your $20 dozen eggs
Unregistered Posted 2/5/2023 5:32 am
This bitch is stupid.
Unregistered Posted 2/5/2023 5:38 am
Correct on both points! \ :strangelove: Unregistered Posted 2/5/2023 5:43 am
Japan is going Hydrogen. They are solving the problems meanwhile Anglo countries fall further behind.
