I want to travel more but keep spending within reason.   I have little interest in sitting by the fire and watching the stars, did enough of that as a kid.

I just dread the thought of setting up a tent in the rain and being stuck inside during a storm.

Just find an abandoned house. They are everywhere

Get a used trailer and tow it along. Those things are cheap and way more comfortable and convenient than a tent.

Not so much to save money but to get away from the crowds.

the whole about camping is totally fucked up, especially on the west coast. you can pay up to 80 bucks a night at a KOA campground now.
