I'm a liberal but I can't stand people who get all pissy like that, especially in public. You don't win people over with tantrums. There were protests in Richmond last night around VCU. Yes...get pissed! Yes...protest! Yes...yell and wave signs.  But then they started assaulting TV news reporters and spray painting the statues on Monument Avenue. 10 people were arrested.

Friday night there was an anti-Trump protest through Ghent. According to the paper one of the precious snowflakes was a Jewish woman carrying a copy of the Constitution and wearing a YELLOW STAR pinned to her jacket.

I'm really hoping that she was the broad who took a full faceful of my diesel smoke after the prancing loser parade blocked Colley Avenue for 10 minutes. Too bad the scent of burning hair and human flesh can't be put in as a fuel additive -- she would have been "triggered" for the next four years.

That Oakland warehouse fire early this morning made me think of something.

A lot of the buildings in the Neon District, Granby Street and around Ghent are pre-code structures with studios and "community spaces" having moved into them. A number of the buildings on Granby Street including the old Texaco building started out as livery stables converted to car dealerships over a century ago.

I really hope that Norfolk is going to take a good hard look at those "art culture" businesses and the buildings housing them before something terrible like that happens here.

Can't wait until Trump swears the oath of office and kicks the NATO freeloading fucks out of the US back to Brussels.

Handsome Biscuit is around 25th street. It's a hipster hangout. It looks like the front lines of gentrification are moving towards 30th.­ There are some nice newly rehab houses over there for cheap. But the whole point of living in Ghent is walk-ability. I don't think it's safe or pleasant around there at night.
