A negro baglady pushing a shopping cart was hit and killed by a car Sunday night as she was crossing a street in the Spring Valley area, according to Metro Police.

The incident happened about 8 p.m. on Rainbow Boulevard at Spring Valley Parkway North. The woman was dressed in all black, police said.

The 67-year-old Las Vegas baglady was taken to University Medical Center, where she died, according to police. Her name was not released, pending notification of her family.

The driver, a 56-year-old Las Vegas man, was not injured, police said. He remained at the scene and did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
