. said: The company is basically a scam. What they do is they go into your company and if you have a lot of databases they make them into one big database

That's it.

33 billion for that

small to midsize companies pay through the nose for cloud services because they can fire costly IT staff

Yep. That is the beauty of the cloud. You hire (or outsource) one or two cloud trevs who automate almost everything, and then you can fire the 20 other trevs who constantly whine and complain how they are not properly respected for their 1337 linux skillz.

Those trevs end up working at Arby's, bitching and whining about snowflakes, SJW, feminazis, street shitters - you know average F2 poster stuff.

Most of us are old and have money.  Brian and the canadian (plural) Che Guevaras are fucked.

Cool, you get software as a service that becomes OPEX not CAPEX. Now try to administer security without a separate CASB, or switch cloud providers without turmoil. Or troubleshoot a new ERP within the cloud having limited access to staff.

Once more again, in English this time?

:apu:

So your cost before the move was $200K a year at your location all in, including staff, and it was $2M afterwards at Snowflake?  And then at "clickhouse" (??) with no appreciable cost?

CLICKHOUSE?

Anyone who has been in software for the last 15 years is well aware of the “big data” boondoggle.

Cloudera, Hortonworks, Pivotal, Mapr, Greenplum, Vertica, ParAccel, the list goes on and on.

These products are dime a dozen and go tits up after failing to deliver any benefit over conventional RDBMS.

They take your data and increase its gayness by a minimum of 10x.

:flamboyanthomosexual: --Here at Snowflake we store your data in sleek 8" cock-pods, and shard it over racks of cock-pods in a technology we call, "CAWKHAUS". Next, the latest in Machine-anal runs deep and hard analysis over these cock-pods until your data is eventually transitioned to full-binary-compliance.
The gayness is increased by a minimum of 11x, I guarantee it.
