The guy was old for 50 years.  He played an OLD guy in Coccoon, and that movie was made in 1985.

Tom Cruise in the last Mission Impossible movie was OLDER than Wilford Brimley in Coccoon.  But Brimley looked 30 years older.

I had a Green Room full of coke and line formed down the hallway for moustache rides.  You worked cash at 7/11.

They were both D-list celebs yet Brimley somehow made it nearly 30 years longer than Magbas. :stunned:

Back in 1993 I was watching The Firm in a theater. Brimley plays a henchman working for the evil law firm that is after Tom Cruise. In one scene Cruise is being chased by Brimley and another bad guy. Cruise ends up beating Brimley to death with his briefcase. It's a brutal scene. When Cruise was done, someone in the row in front of me said ...

"No more Quaker Oats for you!"

The whole audience busted out laughing.

Brothers and Sisters, please join me in prayer for our dearly departed Wilford Brimley.

Please touch the screen while you pray.

God our Father,

Your power brings us to birth,
Your providence guides our lives,
and by Your command we return to dust.

Lord, those who die still live in Your presence,
their lives change but do not end.
I pray in hope for Wilford Brimley,
his relatives and friends,
and for all the dead known to You alone.

In company with Christ,
Who died and now lives,
may Wilford Brimley rejoice in Your kingdom,
where all our tears are wiped away.
Unite us together again in one family,
to sing Your praise forever and ever.

Amen
