That's not how it works. All SSI cases are reviewed. It doesn't matter if you have 100 letters from 100 doctors saying you're disabled. You're not getting SSI unless your condition is legit and you can prove it to the caseworker or a judge. And remember, none of this matters in the context of reducing benefits like you're suggesting. If there's too much fraud, you need better caseworkers not 20% less for everyone who needs it.

 prove it to a caseworker? What the hell qualifications does a social worker have

That's the first sensible question you've come up with. If you want to reduce fraud maybe you should try to answer that question instead of reducing funds across the board for no reason.

That's not how SSI works. But even if it did work that way, what's the point of punishing people who need it? Its not going to stop abuse. Why not change the application process if your goal is to stop fraud?

That is exactly how it works. It's an industry in the Appalachians.

Uhh, don't you prove it to a caseworker or Judge with a Doctors diagnosis ? Or the social worker and judge are medical experts a who can just look at you and tell if you are disabled ?

if someone says they are depressed or their back hurts, is a case worker going to provide a better diagnosis than a doctor?

look at the guycocketing number of scammers collecting ssdi.

fact is, ssdi is a scam.  get rid of it.

now you're not sure if you're talking about ssi or ssdi. why don't you do a little research before you start trolling?

Both.  The only difference betwen SSI & SSDI is whether the person worked before.  Get rid of both programs.

Now you want to get rid of the programs instead of reducing benefits. What a neat troll you've come up with.

Sounds like you're grasping at straws here. Whatever they're paying you is wasted since you really suck at this propaganda troll thing.

I'm not having to grasp at anything while I watch you decide between reducing benefits and shutting down programs and figure out which benefits and programs you're concerned about.

You have a lot of questions. Its almost as if you have no idea how SSI works.

The problem is you are full of bs, SSI works exactly like I am said previously, you are an enabler who either gets SSI and/or makes money off of SSI recipients one way or another. I am all for people who are disabled from no fault of their own getting it , maybe 10% of the caseloads. What you should be for is thsoe people getting a 30% raise and the lazy system gamers getting nothing.

Getting rid of programs is a way to reduce benefits, but by 100%.

Slash government spending across the board.  That applies to both warfare & welfare spending.

PS. all my responses were about SSDI, which I believe you thought you posted about. SSI isn't going to be cut, so you must have meant SSDI.

op obviously was talking about ssdi, ssi isn't going to be cut, they will be getting a nice tidy 3-4% increase.

False.  Blacks, hispanics, and poor people are the most likely to get murdered.

it is rich people who moved factories out of the US to reap profits off US system Americans  built, they are the culprits.  All their free trade bullshit, we don't need free trade with these slave labor countries.
you dummies don't know it's the rich people who get the huge checks from SSI, not the poor people you hate so much.  It's the rich people gettin 5000 dollar checks every month.  People on disability and stuff like that get a pittance.

Your willingness to shut down the entire program makes me question your intention to look after the welfare of people.
