Why would they stop accepting donations at some arbitrary number? If this were a real fund raiser they would've kept accepting donations as long as people were making them. It makes no sense to cut off donations.

Good for them. Also the organizers are a real class act for hooking them up with an accountant to help them with managing the windfall.
