and any honest historian knew this, we took in Europeans until we had too many and then we shut them out

Nobody ever wanted the USA to become a dumping ground for polygamists, holy day bathers or burka clad women from Somalia.

That crappy poem doesn't belong on the Bartholdi masterpiece.

Wasn't it added years after the statue?

It needs to be added to,

"But not the criminals, free-loaders and people that hate America and just want to bring their shitty culture here, those we will kill or deport by catapult."

This is humor, LEO
Or is it?
Hehehe

Emma Lazarus wasn't European, she was a Sephardic Jew.

It was never intended to be a part of Bartholdi's statue. It was written by Emma Lazarus in 1883 while the base of the statue was being built. Lazarus died in 1887 and the bronze plaque inscribed with her poem "The New Colossus" was not made and added to the base until 1903.

Brown immigrants are not "yearning to breathe free."  They yearn to be coddled wards of the State.  As such, the Lazarus poem disqualifies them.

Fact: Emma Lazarus was a descendant of Portuguese Jewish colonists who owned slaves in Brazil in the 1600s.

Then the plaque bearing her poem needs to come down as it is a hateful reminder of slavery and Jewish supremacy.
