The ones around here ruin their burgers with those damn purple onions.

All you can taste is that damn purple onion.

Ruins the burger.

Everyone knows that you only use yellow onions on a hamburger.

They regularly come up in the lowest scores on sanitation and food handling. Be careful.

A news station did a show about one in New Jersey and I won't eat at one again.

I have a feeling that you would be hard-pressed to find many restaurants in Jersey where people would willingly dine if they knew what was going on as far as those preparing it are concerned.

Yellow onions are mild, they have onion flavor, but it's not overbearing.

White onions aren't as mild, they're strong, good if cooked, but not good raw.

Purple onions are downright harsh - harsh and overbearing. If you put them on a hamburger, then that is all you will taste. You might as well just leave everything off, including the burger, and just eat an onion sandwich.

Purple onions ruin a hamburger.

Not in my experience.

White onions have a hotness that yellow onions don't have. Yellow onions are typically sweeter, with less heat.

All anyone need do to test the validity of either of our claims is to buy a yellow and a white onion and try them for themselves.

Trying to figure out the Carls Jr version of the burger op is talking about. I know the western burger but that has onion rings in it.
