As I get older and older, I fear being the 40+ unsuccesful guy

I have a feeling women expect 40+ men to be successful, have a plan, etc.. If you are 40 and basically working in a job like a entry level college graduate job, you are fucked

I'm 39 and - dead serious here - have a 160k euro base salary with BMW 5 series, potential for antoher 35% on top in bonus, etc. etc. and STILL i consider myself to be "average" in terms of how women consider me. Perhaps I'm trying to pitch to the wrong women...
I personally don't care about status or income, but so many women do.
It's like saying that I shouldn't bathe, or wear clean clothes, if you worry about women think. You have to be realistic. Women care about what you look like, your job title, what you ear, etc..

Image being in your mid-50s and failed at everything you've ever tried. Like Jambes/MW.
AND in addition you also fucked your best friend's underage daughter.
Fail, Treachery and No Morals all in one person.
But he really enjoys natural light studios.
Guess those years of having his utilities shut off regularly, made him appreciate natural light that much more.
You're SO right! He needs to have it all together! Me on the other hand, I'll just get drunk and fuck random guys in a toilet at a football game. Society can then provide for me.

Toys and bank accounts don't necessarily make people feel more secure. It sounds like the OP is artificially linking his sexual identity to the wrong sort of things.
Take me, for instance. I reak of self-confidence. Everybody knows I am the Burrito Rancho Grande around here. Do you think it is because of my German car? No It is because i exude manliness with every character I type.
That is the reason I keep coming back to this board. Yes, I am a fuck-up, but coming here makes me realize that it could be quite a bit worse. Thank you.

I am going to be 39, had a six-figure Job and lost it. Struggling with my own business and eking out a living, had to downsize. Have a wife that is supportive and two great children. Is it an ideal situation? No, but we are in a good place.
The guy who is my age and still looking for a woman, I feel sorry for.
Status seeking drones both of you. I wouldn't invite either of you to bed.
I'm the second poster and not at all a status seeking drone. Spend most of my money on mountaineering expiditions and other exotic travelling. Aside from that, I save as much as possible and don't buy much - i would like to be financially independent so i can get out of the corporate world.

If you feel like a loser, get a nice but economical German car. A ten year old 3-series in great shape. Learn to work on that. You now have one significant aspect of success under control. Cost is marginal.
