I use algebra all the time in just my day-to-day life. It's a pretty core skill.

I have never used it, not once, in my adult life.

For most kids, probably not. Most will never use it.
I would suggest the problem with American students is the way Mathematics is taught. The rest of the world teaches a core curriculum of Integrated Mathematics with an emphasis on technical usage. The American way teaches as if students are preparing for majoring in Mathematics in college.

If you are not using algebra on a daily basis, you should probably kill yourself. It's a pretty basic skill.

Better to know it and not need to use it, than to not know it and require it. Besides, knowledge expands the mind.

I would imagine that fewer than 1% of U.S. millionaires know algebra. That's telling you something.

What a stupid statement. The VAST majority of careers never ever use algebra.

I'm not talking about CAREERS, dumbass. I'm talking about day-to-day life. If you are not using algebra to make decisions in life, you are not doing it right.

What's next? Is reading and writing important? Everything can be communicated by images and cartoons anyway.
Like Burger King making its tills nothing but pictures so non-English speakers can use them

Algebra is racist. Hopefully the new federal office of special treatment for black kids will do something about this.

I hated Algebra, but use it everyday in my job.
