What is the biggest single reason for the decline of FC and spin-off boards?

Exactly. Same opinions and variations of the same troll every day. And the cintent is not really edgy, just caricatures of every family reunion I've been to. It's like being around your fat drunken uncles as they rehash their tired old worldview over and over.

Well you guys whine about free speech then bitch about moderation.
Make up your minds.

No, Pud got tired that it became REAL WORK. He's a grubby little Jew; easy money is all he knows and wants. Like I said, the FC Universe went into decline when the easy money did. By 2006 the easy money was totally gone from tech work and the web, so that grubby little Jew Pud fled. But we'd been losing people all along, from the 2000 crash on downward.

Look what happened to James Howard, a.k.a. Krunkme. Some guy who had all this money from his early dotcom win, and then he fucking blew it all. He died penniless. A lot of other FCers are the same, but they're just not dead yet. They faded away, facing daily the stunning irrelevance of their pathetic lives. A nagging wife. Screaming children. Mountains of bills. Total asshole bosses. Constantly worried about losing their jobs, and then having that worry validated. Dudes, the FC crowd is clustering 40. Once it clusters around 50, it'll be over. This will be another dead website, sitting in some reg list for $5/yr, at best.

Facebook is annoying as fuck. It's sometimes good to see what your family and friends are up to, but having a FB family argument over politics, religion or international affairs is stupid. If I get into an argument with another dot here, we can let it drop and then it is over. It doesn't follow you around the web like FB comments.

There is no anonymity at Facebook. Anonymity will always have a place on the interwebs.

Facebook exists for one reason and one reason only. To collect information about YOU and to sell that information to companies who want to sell things to YOU. That's it. It isn't for fun and games.

The scary thing about Facebook is that there is no way the government doesn't want to get a hold of all that data Facebook collects on you. It's just too much of a temptation when just one court order can come up with a detailed information about your likes and dislikes, your political beliefs and opinions and just about everything you post on the internet.

Facebook is scary.

Facebook is a microcosm of the internet under the complete control of one company. It's just a better version of AOL.

The truth?

The early FC demographic are all on reddit. No one would even think of F2 as an option these days.

Vocal insanity, as you like to put it, was always there in FC's heyday. Wasn't a problem then, since:

1. Those guys had thick skin, unlike your wimpy, effete self.

2. Those guys were making serious cash, so what the fuck did they care? In contrast, you probably man the phones for 35 hours each week, without health insurance or sick days. Dude, YOU'RE POOR.

Shit, that's good insight. I never thought of it that way. :hmmm:

It's still not worth anything north of $6/share, however. Goyim never learn.

Most of the PI that ends up on these boards is a result of the person letting their own PI out somehow. Sometimes they trust another poster, sometimes they post their blogs or websites and it ends up getting out. I've posted here for many years and nobody has a clue as to what my name is, where I live, etc.

Other forums have members that release PI but they are much more civil or grown up about it.
Here it's emotionally unstable video gaming manchildren that want to stalk and ruin others.
