In all seriousness, it's a horrible PR development for Romney.

Look, I know this board is chock full of racists, but you can't just pretend the black vote doesn't exist. No matter how much you try and disenfranchise it.

And even if you STILL don't like black people, Romney is running for president. If he can't connect with 13% of the population, that's a major problem no matter how you look at it.

And then there's the whole issue of reflexivity. Meaning, it's not even that 12-13% are to be written off, but the appearance that you can't even manage the respect of this group rubs off negatively on the rest of the population. The message being "This guy can't lead."

Of course you can discount them, because there is no way you can win them (unless you promise for more free shit and affirmative action/government jobs, but the Dems have cornered the market on that tactic).

Dude, it doesn't matter. Blacks vote Democratic basically 100% no matter what.

It doesn't matter who they run. They see Democrat and pull the lever. All they care about is committing crime, getting racial preferences and more government gimmedats and that's what the Democrats are all about.

GOP has a bigger problem in California: they keep kicking Hispanics in the nuts, every chance they get. That's smart, real smart.

Texas GOP seems to be able to get along with Hispanics.

Your theory has only been true once. Reagan in 1980. Aside from that, since 1968 every losing candidate since then was never able to get more than 6% of the black vote.
