Ask the Germans and the Japanese why they are willing to pay more for domestic goods, because Americans certainly won't.

Yup. Their business model cannot last long.

Whose, America's?

Corporate America. They have just about cut themselves off at the knees, and most of what I see now is the scramble to consolidate Corporate holdings before the crash.

Wal-Mart could not exist without the Government supporting them through benefits to employees. Get real.

Walmart has nothing to do with the relationship of their employes and the government . The Democrats and their liberal news media have tried to demonize and destroy Walmart for years because Walmart really does do more for their "working customers"than the government can. Taxing customers who shop there is now a possibility thanks to the 2700 page Obama care. I shit you not.

A couple of years ago there was talk of bailing out liberal newspapers like NYT, and others. Then there was FCC rumbling about the Fairness Doctrine.
Now with this Roberts decision, they can do anything. Put any sort of tax in Obamacare (because much of the rules will be made as they go along), and get their agenda implemented.

Who do you really think supports this unbridled tax hike? Who stands to benefit most?

Think about it.

For this, I blame [or credit] DEMOCRACY [polite term for mob rule] .... Not Walmart

Solution: end welfare

I don't care who supports it. Nothing ever good came out of tax hikes.
Who stands to benefit most? Probably the politicians. Something about little mean runts when they have power, they love to push around normal people.

You refuse to accept the control Corporate America has over our Government. I used to not understand the connection either, and now I feel kind of silly for being so naive.

Seriously, educate yourself. I have no problems with Big Business, but they are not the entities who should be calling the shots, because their agenda does not favor the survival of the USA, but only the next quarter's profits.

Short-sighted and totally the opposite of what Big Business should stand for.

Politicians are nothing more than Corporate tools at this point. Go to the source, dude. Go to the source of the money.

I'd agree there is a destructive convergence of interest
tween
the low level "workers" who want government to dominate business [set such as minimum wage]
and
business owners who want government to subsidize support of workers so business can pay less.

Like some business owners [generally thought to be "conservative"]
want and depend on low wage immigrants [many illegal].....
so they support the appropriate "easy on immigrants" politicians.

I understand, but you don't get it.

Let me put it this way: Let's suppose prostitution is a horrible crime. What will work better to curb this crime:
a) Humiliate the johns and punish them and let the hookers go, or
b) Punish the prostitutes so harshly that they will never dare to hook again.

This is not rocket surgery. You all know the solutions, but are too busy debating and trying to blame each other.

Laws have been in place for decades to protect the American worker, but have been completely eroded by PRIVATE Corporate interests. Take away the money incentive from politics and the problem will disappear.

I realize this is virtually impossible, but that is one of the solutions to a stable economy. Americans have been completely brainwashed to think in terms of cheaper is better as a means of survival. It's fundamentally the wrong approach to long-term survival.

You forgot:

c) ignore prostitution and concentrate on important issues that improve the quality of life.

You need a bigger envelope to explore.

I just knew their had to be some wise people here. The Court ruling just made it legal for the regime to tax Citizens. The plan was already thought out.

The problem with capitalists is that they are so damned shortsighted. They see nothing beyond getting profits up next quarter and to hell with long term goals. As Lenin once said, "The capitalists will sell us the rope we will use to hang them with."
