Now we're too busy building airport security facilities and million-square-foot underground computer centers for processing all the ELINT obtained on the inmates.
Every link I click to a NYT article these days wants me to log in, as if I'd waste one instant registering or pay one cent to that insane liberal cuntrag. What a joke. They ought to begging people to read their faggot drivel, not make it a pain in the ass.
The sad thing is, the US could wipe the floor with Singapore if we wanted to. But we don't. We'd rather just keep pretending socialism is the way to prosperity, while they continue to brutally jackhammer us in the shitter.
Actually, queers have great design taste, generally speaking. That pile of shit was probably designed by a fat white Christian. It's covered in aluminum siding, for fuck's sake.
"The foundations of economic freedom in Singapore are firmly sustained with strong protection of property rights and effective enforcement of anti-corruption laws. The government is very efficient, with competitive tax rates and low government expenditures."
And then there's the US...
"The United States economic freedom score of 76.3 drops it to 10th place in the 2012 Index. Its score is 1.5 points lower than last year, reflecting deteriorating scores for government spending, freedom from corruption, and investment freedom.
Although the foundations of economic freedom remain strong, recent government interventions have eroded limits on government, and public spending by all levels of government now exceeds one-third of total domestic output. The regulatory burden on business continues to increase rapidly, and heightened uncertainty further increases regulations negative impact. Fading confidence in the governments determination to promote or even sustain open markets has discouraged entrepreneurship and dynamic investment within the private sector.
Under Democratic President Barack Obama, the federal system of government, designed to reserve significant powers to the state and local levels, has been strained by the national governments rapid expansion. Spending at the national level rose to over 25 percent of GDP in 2010, and gross public debt surpassed 100 percent of GDP in 2011. A 2010 health care bill that greatly expanded the central governments reach has been under challenge in the courts, and the DoddFrank financial overhaul bill has roiled credit markets."

Uh, you mean the combination of civilian socialism and its big brother, corporate socialism (i.e. crony capitalism), don't you?
Singapore has plenty of socialism. Only 10% of Singaporeans own cars. People generally rely on the mass transit system that covers the whole island. They also have universal health care (at the basic level) and public schools.
But at the same time, they have some brutal capitalism too. No welfare, no minimum wage, no affirmative action, pro business government that crushes labor unions, and employers can hire & fire at will, for any reason.
The reason why Singapore is successful is that they don't cling to ideals like "socialism is good" or "socialism is bad". The focus is on practicality, not idealism.
USA clings to ideals like "If we put a man on the moon, we can accomplish anything" and "The American way of life is not up for negotiation" and "Our founding fathers said ____".
USA is fading, but we still cling to arrogance. Singapore is rising, but their mentality is more along the lines of "We've had success, but we have zero margin of error, so we have to keep working hard, be perfect, focus only on what works, and don't cling to any past ideals."
Makes sense. Maybe that's why Singapore doesn't build shit like that. After all, homosexuality is ILLEGAL in Singapore. The Singaporean media is also censored so that they can't promote or glamourize homosexuality.
Yep. The infestation of gimmedats covers the spectrum from to the Patrick Batemans on Wall Street. As is said on here often, the only losers are the s who just work and pay their taxes and haven't figured out how to loot the system.
You can't compare Detroit to the rest of the world's high-rise city centers, morons.
Those pictures are of various US cities, Dallas, Detroit, Cleveland, Camden.
US infrastructure is definitely crumbling. And as USA becomes majority black & hispanic, the ruins & ghettos will spread.
USA will eventually be like Sao Paulo Brazil. The top 1% will live in nice gated compounds with armed guards, and they'll travel around in armored cars & helicopters to protect themselves from the dangerous favellas.

I went there last year and it is indeed brutal capitalism. There's block on block of malls, bigger than anything I've seen in the states, jammed with people in a spending melee. Nearly every other store is selling cameras/cell phones/gimcracks, which means the merchants are super pushy. Before going to a Singaporean mall, you should first go to Frisco or Boulder, CO and practice brushing off aggressive panhandlers to prepare yourself.
