When you are thrown under the bus at work...

Ignore everything. Delete the emails in your inbox which relate to this particular situation. Remember, you are having problems with your email and as such, don't have a clue about what is currently going on. Pass the buck when VP eventually calls you into his office... blame the IT department. Apologize for nothing. Ask your boss/VP if he wants you to go down to the IT department and see if they can look into this "email problem." Perhaps even a comment like, "I remember back in the day when email used to be even more unreliable than this!" or, "It could be worse... we could have to type out the messages on paper, place them into an envelope, place a stamp on the envelope, and mail it... it might take days... it might not even get delivered!"

That is correct. There is nobody above my manager, we don't have a VP

You just said before to keep it subtle and not do anything directly. Now your licking the ass of a street shitter to involve all upper management over a fucking email link?

Could you be any stupider?

Am I?

That's why I said talk to manager. Managers are supposed to back you up in such cases, and he would know the politics better than OP.

As I said, it is a power play, and sometimes escalating rather than backing down is the only way out.

I said to keep his treatment of the complainer as stupid subtle. Reading comprehension problems? Not surprising considering your advice.

P.S. And according to the OP the management is already involved, jackass.

Don't apolgize for anything. Resend her the original e-mail, copy boss/manager, who ever... Say here's the e-mail I sent you with solution. PLease let me know if you need anything else.

Asserting your position is not escalating it, dumbass.

Why he can't just present the original email and ask why she can't access it when her coworker can?

Wtf is the problem here?

Do you agree with my analysis that it is a power play?

Send the managers your initial reply. State you heard nothing for X days, so you considered the matter solved.

Right. Wtf is so hard about that? This is a fucking troll.

Managers only back you if it will help them in their fights with other managers. Let's say that the manager wants the VP's support in some sort of promotion. In that case the manager would throw the OP under the bus in a second.

Lot's of other peons out there.

The responses you see in this thread illustrate why most of these posters are not working.

Manager is passing the buck tho and trying to minimize his involvement. Basically he doesn't want to deal with them...and she wants me to come to her desk instead of email so I can kiss her ass.

So tell your manager that you are going to send the email suggested earlier with the attachment of the other emails and will CC it to him and the VP. Go to her desk and make sure she can access the link. Done.

You're a fucking beta. Why would you not use email to send a link? And why haven't you even asked why she couldn't access it when her coworker can?

Wtf is the matter with you?

I have been employed without break since I was 16 years old, only two different jobs since I was 25. Yeah, that's a questionable work history.

Worst advice possible. VPs don't want to get hauled into what is essentially a cubicle squabble. You don't pull that trigger unless your job is on the line.

This is the correct motorcycle.

It's a chess match. Don't go nuclear when you don't have to.

They were already involved by the coworker, by CCing them you are simply notifying them that the situation has been handled.

So you were sacked for reasons you can't admit to, now you spend all fucking night here giving bad advice to others, which will get them the boot if they take it.

You're a toxic idiot.
