I don't agree with your assessment on horrendous, but in fact that it is more Explicit in nature. Right. I don't believe for a second the attack lasted only thirty or forty minutes. Her crew had to fight off their own attackers, regroup, make their way over to the nearest military outpost, seek medical attention for themselves, persuade the soldiers they found to intervene, talk to whoever they found in charge of the soldiers, wait for the soldiers to rally enough men, find the hostile crowd, find Lara's position in the crowd when she'd already been whisked away somewhere, watch the soldiers fail a few times then go get more men, watch the soldiers fight the angry crowd of two hundred men to even get close to her, watch them fight her attackers and hope those men around her didn't resort to killing her the moment they knew they were busted, grab her, successfully extract her, make their way out of whatever ally or corner back to their outpost. She was probably in there an hour or two before they even started trying to rescue her.
Thirty soldiers against a crowd of two hundred men? Yea! Right! There's no way any commanding officer in any modern military chain of command would authorize a group of thirty of his men to leave their posts (when they'd already drawn down for the night and they were already understaffed) and to let them risk all of their lives and run off into the night after some foreign blond woman that could easily be dead already. They had to investigate first, see that she was still alive, see that she was naked, see that men were standing around her cheering and filming what must have been a completely worn out and subdued compliant victim.
There is no way it was just fingers. Absolutely no way. I doubt the Fat Kid video was accurate. It may have even been a red herring put out there by the government. But, I think Full Report rings true. It makes sense.

I don't even believe that they beat her! You can beat a woman with her clothes on! They stripped her to humiliate her first, let people take pictures and video of her nude, and then I believe they made a Show of her Assault to the cheers of the crowd! That's the reason for the Cover up!
Oh, she was definitely beaten but not beaten up like a fight. A few pages back, it was revealed that Marie Colvin broke the story about her being whipped with flagpoles. They bent her over and they caned her good and hard. I'm as sure of that as I am of anything.
