When will religion finally cease to exist? I have a problem with it because it depicts religion in an overly negative way. And mind you, that is coming from a person who is essentially very religion skeptic.
Is it the job of a religion to teach men about sexuality? I think that troublesome to think. I think you gotta learn about sexuality but i do not think that religion is best qualified for that.

Islam is not repressing women. It is people who repress women. It is a matter of who wields power over whom. The problem is not that in these countries Islam is so strong. It is more the problem that there are too many thugs and brutal and cruel psychopaths who rule over others.
The problem is the POWER structure of Religion. You know the real grievance i have with Religion? God is depicted as KING or LORD or BOSS. Change it. See God as A FRIEND. Or as your PARTNER. And presto, everything will be different: Suddenly you do not have to adhere to Commandments or Orders. Sadly most Religious do not see it that way.

THE POWERSTRUCTURE in Islam makes all the problems. Seeing God as essentially your boss is the problem. Of course that leads to backwardness in thinking especially with people who are prone to believe in very jungle-like hierarchy.
The powerstructure is just a reflection of the economical structure. Sure, if you live in a power shithole of a country, without a proper education, you start to believe the dumb bullshit religion offers as answer.
