You could see the dream die in McCain's eyes in his comments after the speech, when he complained about Obama putting time limits on the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan.

So. I don't care anymore. Let the country die. Fuck it.

And yet troop levels increase and the military budget for 2010 is even bigger than the one the imperialist Republicans laid out for 2009.

Promise all kinds of shit and then backtrack later when everybodys forgotten. This is the standard Obama game plan, except that even Libs are wising up. It was funny as hell to see all of those losers who cried at the Inauguration protesting in front of the White House.

Looks like the Bush Doctrine is being continued - attacking a Muslim country for something they 'might' do in the future.

It's also pretty depressing how all the things being pushed by the "Project for the New American Century" have ended up being the things that are most likely to render us irrelevant.

Liberals want us to be irrelevant. They dream of the day that a United Nations stands at the helm of the planet. (read: one world government)

I never considered Bill Crystal et al to be "liberals" though.

But what if Obama is not like Bush, and actually means what he says?

Obama's plan was pretty detailed. It's hard to see him not following his own deadlines.

We were attacked from Afghanistan, and the people who attacked us are still there.

No, we were attacked by Al Qeada and they are not in Afghanistan.

The Taleban is in Afghanistan and we are attacking them because they 'might' get back into power, and 'might' create a safe haven for Al Qaeda who 'might' attack the US again.

Sounds much like the Bush Doctrine of attacking a country based on a few hypotheticals.

BTW, Obama is renewing the Patriot Act provisions which expire this month - another neocon victory.

Obongo's time limits mean jack shit. Example: Closure of Gitmo.

Im sure he means what he says, just like he meant what he said about reducing the deficit, about creating 5 million new jobs, about closing the widening wealth gap, about making the US the #1 automaker again, about closing Gitmo, ect.

I mean, who doesnt want cancer cured, cheap, clean fuel, or kids better educated? The problem isnt that he doesnt MEAN it, the problem is that he cant actually ACCOMPLISH any of it.

Heres a crazy suggestion: Why doesnt he get ONE THING right before he starts talking big about the next titanic undertaking?

Personally I don't have a problem with it. That is because I think that the alternative is for him to not trying to tackle the huge problems that exist. There is plenty of room for the leader of a nation to go after huge problems. Nobody can or will. He will. That's the depth of my analysis, for better or worse.

He is driven by a single agenda: get re-elected. He did the stupidest possible thing and no amount of spin can hide that.

"The war is one of necessity that we MUST win and it is the fault of Bush that we were attacked. Therefore I am committing more troops."
\
:obama:

"Our exit strategy is driven by the calendar."

Is anything happening in 2012 that motivates this?

We have already seen how he tries to solve Americas problems: He throws trillions of freshly printed dollars at them.

That isnt "Hope", in fact its the opposite. He has bankrupted the country and mortgaged its future to prop up the stock and property markets long enough to help the rich cash out.

Its nice to talk a big game but when we look beyond the speeches and the flashy marketing he is basically contining Bush`s insane domestic economic policy of a fake prosperity through unsustainable debt and global capital fuzzy math and stepping it up several notches. Not that I necessarily put this all on Obama, as I think he is only the trigger man doing what his masters (who were Bush`s masters) tell him to.

King - what would have been a smarter approach than to borrow huge sums to try to deal with the financial meltdown? What else is a government going to do but to spend taxpayer money? I'm not saying it was all 100% right but it was not 100% wrong either.

Son, this is about banking oil, not muslims. Take note, which countries refused to denominate their oil in USD. If you guessed Afghanistan (they also refused a pipeline), Iraq, and Iran, you win an all expenses trip paid to the IMF and the World Bank headquarters where the real power is.
