Because Microsoft sucks. No one will upgrade. But all new PC's will have Win 7 on it.

Microsoft always come out with a new WGA workaround though that always nukes certain OS. Like XP, they stopped offering updates for non-WGA certified versions. So you really were out on a limb if you wanted an OS that bad. Not worth it in my opinion.

Most of the Windows 7 drivers come from Vista for now so it really only feels like a Vista with a slicker skin.
Boot times are a little faster, programs seem to load a little quicker. Whatever. No real noticable difference.

I have the Beta final of Win 7 on VMWare. I am sticking with XP.

Microsoft fails again.
I don't know about this.
Most of the IT nerds that I work with have snubbed Vista, but have gone through the pain of formatting and installing 7 already.
I'm a hold out. I'm too lazy.
Unless it makes the fleshlight spins both directions, no thanks.

No companies are switching to Win 7, they are staying with XP, and when they buy new PC that have Win 7 on them they just re-image it with XP.

Microsoft or Digital River may contact you to verify that you are a current student. If documentation is not provided indicating that you are a current student, you will be liable to reimburse Microsoft for the difference between what you paid and the estimated retail price of the software.

Especially considering if you pre-ordered it this summer, you could get it for $50. Or if you promised to have a "launch party" they would send you the Ultimate Version plus multiple licenses for free. Alot of people did that and just had a one person party.

they want it on as many PC as possible, and are trying to give it away to maintain their dominance of the PC market. Microsoft is done, Google will soon come out with a OS that boots in 3 seconds and runs all your programs and MSFT id done at that point

The same thing happens every time Microsoft comes out with a new operating system. A few people, mostly idiots like MovieWhore, will want to upgrade immediately, but don't for whatever reason. Most will say that it's going to fail and that they won't use it, then end up upgrading before the dumbasses who wanted to upgrade.

Wrong, stupid.
All google has done is put a new interface on Linux and started their own distribution.

to start with, soon google will have a OS that boots from a internet connection and will run everything. Then MSFT is done.
MSFT is still stuck with the idea all PC's are stand alone.
They are stupid and Ballemer is a retarded cokehead.

That's the thing that trips me out.
Why the fuck does MS software continue to take longer and longer to boot.
Shit the hardware is lightyears farther ahead than it used to be, and yet rebooting takes longer.
And don't even talk to me after logging in how long that damn hour glass stays up after.
