People are surprised at the Chinese suddenlywinning a lot of swimming medals, but until China was awarded the Beijing Olympics there were probably very few swimming pools in China and hardly any coaches and very few people would have thought of investing the time and money in taking their children to learn to be competitive swimmers.
As soon as China knew it was going to host the Olympics they went on a building spree and there was a lot of publicity in the country.
Suddenly millions of people could sport as a way for their children to make them money and the facilities were there for them to try.
Its no surprise really that their medal count is shooting up. The people winning now were 4-8 years old when it was announced Beijing had won and have had a lifetime of training in good facilities with good coaches
This isn't true strictly speaking. The Chinese women swimmers were a dominant force at the 96 Olympics, and by Sydney they all mysteriously disappeared. I remember that they all had HUGE biceps, like weightlifters. They had obviously found something that the drug tests later adapted to.
The 16 year old Chink girl that won the 400 IM came home in the last 50 faster than the men, which doesn't make sense since she swam the rest of the race 25 seconds slower. That kind of finishing power is certainly suspicious.
If I was a gambling man I would say their sudden re-emergence is down to something beyond coaches and facilities.

When you lay it out like that the pattern does seem suspicious.
These poor kids having their bodies pumped up with drugs just so there can be a momentary flash of national pride for old men

The Chinese women did nothing at Barcelona, dominated Atlanta, and then dissapeared again for Sydney. Hard to believe nobody suspected anything at the time, just look at these "girls"
I suspect the 96 Chinese Olympic team was on HGH but it doesnt have to be drugs. Back in the day they used to do blood packing (remove blood add it back in after the body had produced more so as to carry more oxygen) until too many athletes got heart failure from it.
Vladamir Salnikov won the 1500 at the LA Olympics and it was found that he naturally had an abnormally large aorta, similar to the one they found in Secretariat the race horse. Greg LeMonde the Tour DeFrance winner also has this heart defect (except that it is a hune advantage in endurance sports). You could do heart surgeries and recreate these effects in people and nothing would turn up on a drug test.

Because it's a commie nation, and Olympic athletes in China have it much, much better than their fellows being worked to death in the factories.
In the U.S. it's the opposite, only brainwashed idiots spend their best years being abused by perverted Olympic coaches.

Doesn't China have a recruiting system similar to the Soviets and East Germans where they test and select kids at an early age? They funnel them into sports for which they show talent and they start training the fuck out of them early.

It can't be the Chinese government programs to develop Olympic athletes because we know that government programs don't work!
