I've been an observer for years, but the one I caught the tail end of was Uncle_Meat. In my opinion, it was the best. Here's why:
That photoshopped pic was in the infancy for so many things - the fact that no one knew what photoshop was (unless you were in that line of business), the fact that the internet was only for nerds and that no reasonable person knew how pictures spread, the fact that there was no Myspace or Facebook or anything...think about it. Everyone in real life had to believe it was real. Why? Because it was a DAMNED good photoshop!!!
We are sorry but we have had a crash in our system therefor all pictures all lost, we are so sorry.
We apologize for this and hope that you will have understanding for this. We have improved pour system since the last crash and it is much more stable now.
Yeah, I could see it, but I doubt he'll be in prison for a long time. Probably nine months for good behavior.
Florida's just not the kind of place you want to be in if you want to be a gangsta...gun laws are insane there, not as insane as Texas but still crazy.
As a kid, I loved that gritty look. I knew it wouldn't be like that above 42nd Street and everything, but there's still areas that are still decimated.
My favorite movies that showed gritty NYC:
Panic In Needle Park
The Taking of Pelham 1, 2, 3
The French Connection
Midnight Cowboy
Cruising
The Warriors
Basket Case
Taxi Driver
Desperate Characters
It's true, but not in the presentation. Basically, some hoodrat of any age walks around, saying "Smoke? Smoke? Smoke?" over and over. If you lock eyes, he'll take one step towards you hesitantly waiting for you to walk forward, or do the "no-thanks" motion to your neck with your hand. He usually walks away at that point.
As a tourist, it's tricky, because you're really just wondering WTF a guy is doing walking around saying that over and over, and he thinks he's about to make a sale.
