Now I didn't call you a pussy you have me confused with everybody else who writes on this board. Even Jesus would swear in Washington DC traffic. I get that you swear. Americans swear at people.
And I thank you. You taught me that three penises really are better than one. My life is richer for it sir. God bless you and every one of your penises.
I don't know either. On that one I am still postulating and not reporting. I can't imagine at this point that she was too afraid to say it. She might have had other reasons be they personal, political or economical. Maybe her husband simply asked her not to speak about it. Maybe it was her mother. Maybe she doesn't want her children to have to hear it when they are older. I don't know. But it wasn't fear and it wasn't weakness. Of that I am 99 percent certain.
only it is not really a theory. I asked her and this is what she said.
I asked. "was this a random thing or was it some form of government retribution" she replied, "yes it was definitely retribution. They knew who we were and were tracking us as soon as we came back." I said, "so it was planned?" She replied "Not planned, it depends on what you think of as planned." She then went into outline the scenario I just described. I don't remember what was said verbatim after that point but I do recall the sentiment. So it's her theory. Not mine. I'm reporting now not postulating. There is a difference.
I didn't ask, were you raped in the biblical sense. But my sense after meeting her is that it happened just like she said. I think she was brutally fisted, pawed, grouped, pinched. While it is possible someone tried to have sex with her I truly think, after meeting her, that she would have said so if it had happened. she would have said "I was raped repeatedly." I truly think if anyone has the balls to say that to the world and hold their head up high it is her. She is brazen and fiery and wears her weaknesses like an armor.
I then asked her how she felt about the coverage of the attack in the news. She said initially she was so beat up that she had no idea what was being said. She did mention Nir Rosen and what an asshole he is. She admits that she reads the blogs about her even now and that she is sometimes tempted to log on and say, "this is Lara Logan shut the hell up". Which makes me think that she has seen this one as it is the largest one about her on the internet. She said she was in such a mess after the assault in the hospital that she almost turned down the president's call. She said she gets pissed reading all the bull shit online about this event and announced that practically none of those people had any idea what they hell they were talking about. She said she turned down interviews by the hundreds and could go on CNN tomorrow if she wanted to talk more about the rape in Egypt. The sense I got is that the media would happily take this story and run with it. She said emphatically that she did only the CBS interview because she didn't want anyone to say that she was sensationalizing her assault or profiting off of it. She wanted it said and over with and behind her. However she had no problem talking about what happened in small groups.
At this point there were only about 8 people in the room. I think even her husband had left.
Around this time the broadcast starts and you can watch that for yourself. The only telling moments were when the interviewer alluded that she had talked several times about her assault and she clearly corrected him that she had only spoken once. She also said that she was actually not in the process of dying during the rape but was half dead. Other than that the topics were way more political.
After the interview there were question and answer sessions that I hear were or will be aired on C-span. They were pretty lame and nothing of note transpired. I had just gotten up the courage to get up and go to the microphone when they closed the questions.
But Lara stayed for about a half hour and let people get autographs and pictures with her. She was amazingly candid and real. Mostly young journalists from GW came up to rub elbows, make job connections and smooze. They tried to impress her with their sophomoric geopolitical views and she talked to every one, encouraged a few and answered every question straight and honest. She was throwing around the F word and criticizing politicians and us military policy unabashedly.
Finally, after the crowd thinned out I walked up and introduced myself. And struck up a conversation about Egypt. I kid you fucking not, no one else so much as mentioned it or even alluded to it.
And she said...
The crowd was likely stirred up by military and government agents stationed around the crowd. They grabbed her because she stood out. She said I didn't look like anyone else with this hair and all the lights. I was easy to spot. They were clearly attacking journalists all week. She thinks they were following her from the second she arrived in the country. She said it wasn't planned as such or necessarily carried out by the government but that she thinks agents of the government stirred up and incited the crowd.
Ok, so I arrive at 7:30 at the washington press club in downtown dc. I got a great seat. Two hot little female journalism students sit next to me and start having an inane conversation about how Lara Logan is so pretty. They are looking at her picture on the program. I realize they have no idea who she is. It turns out that they were forced to come to this thing as an assignment. They didn't even know what happened in Egypt. About the half the crowd was young journalism students. The other half was older alums who come to these events all the time for something to do and had no particular interest in Lare per se.
Lara came out about 7:50 with the interviewer and a glass of wine. She was totally chill. And even though I was surrounded by 18 old college girls, she was the most beautiful girl in the room. Confidence and poise trump youth I learned tonight.
I mean this with all due respect. Fuck you. I am not some misogynistic troglodyte. I may run my mouth on this anon board but in the real world I have a good paying job where I ,unlike some republican candidates, have yet to have a sexual harassment suite filed against me. At the risk of incurring Masked Truth's wrath, I too have a degree in Journalism I just haven't used it 10 years. I wanted a job where I could really make a difference. That's why I manually masturbate caged animals for artificial insemination. Extra points for those who get the movie reference. Sorry I am just giddy to be meeting our lady tonight. Headline tomorrow. Logan leaves husband for dashing animal husbandry expert she met at symposium.
Pelley never mentioned Egyptian police. Before you argue go back and watch it again. I know you think he said that but he didn't. He said we will never know for certain if the regime was targeting a reporter. Now we have her saying more or less that she thinks she was a target.
Hell no. If she was hanging there they would have showed her hanging there. You have to be in real good shape to climb that rock even with ropes. All she did was the voice over. I have to agree, she hasn't done any foreign/war reporting since this incident. I doubt they will fire her but she can't be the chief foreign news coorespondant if she is too afraid to leave the country. They will have to give her another job if she doesn't get over this soon.
Now that is hot. Just the thought of his wrinkly old balls flopping around as he's reamed over and over by gooks yelling ditty Mao!!! Gives me instant wood... No homo.
This idea of posting on her facebook page was tried by folks who frequent this board. Actually no one on her facebook has said anything hurtful.. or maybe they did and it was removed.. Anyway, I am sure folks in her camp have been monitoring this board. You don't go through all this trouble to cover something up and not monitor the one internet site that is left discussing it. Anyway she said what she wanted to say. Nobody is going to convince or trick her into saying something else. I can see her cashing in with a book in the future that gives a little more. But I doubt the whole story will ever be told.
A big part of why she has the job in the first place is her sex appeal. I am not saying she is not a good journalist. I am saying there are lots of journalists as good as her who make far less and have way less prestigious positions becaue they are not hotties. We practically require woman on tv to exude sex appeal. This is a fairly new concept as well. Barbara Walters and Dianne Sawyer, and those of their generation, were largely exempt from this requirement. I've noticed many of the female reporters on the BBC are downright dowdy. Here in America we want our news to come from the mouths of babes. Look at the fox news line up. With the exeption of Greta Van Sustern, they look like the stephord wives.
I didn't write this either. I will sign all comments superjerk always have always will.
I remember a month or two back there was some footage on the news of Libyan soldiers raping a young girl. I can't remember if they showed the footage with everything blurred or just played audio. But I remember the sounds of her screaming and how it made my insides just twist up. I wanted to kill the son of a bitch. But I was also aroused. I think I would feel the same way watching Lara's incident.
And EE I would admit I was raped if I was a journalist committed to the truth and circumstances required me to speak about it in the first place. And I would hire people to kill those responsible if I could identify them. Sorry you didn't like my pulp fiction reference but I thought it was fitting given that Marsellus Wallace had just been raped in the ass when he said it.
I have always signed superjerk to my posts. I had to register as the real way back because my moniker was taken. I have never seen anyone else pretending to be me. When I am too lazy to sign in I change Real to Rael. You all can stop analyzing me. I am an open book.
I want to see the footage. It would turn me on. I am also fascinated by how this story was swept under the rug and contained. I am also fascinated by the geopolitical aspects of this story should tape, pictures or real witnesses come forward. I like Lara Logan as a TV personality. She seems like a cool person. But I am not going to put her on a pedestal as some paragon of valor, strength and ethics because she was raped. I might have put her on that pedestal if she really told the truth or characterized the event properly. But she didn't. She hid behind her network and government connections, whitewashed the events and now refuses to take any questions. And somebody is quelling the voices of witnesses and other journalist on her behalf. That makes me a bit angry with her because everyone talks about her breaking the silence and being such a great journalist when in fact she did nothing but what she had to do. Because AP was about to break the story she had to release the initial statement. Because there are pictures out there(she said so herself)she had to be clear that the event was of a sexual nature. Because she was returning to work and the story had lit up the internet, she had speak about it. She did nothing that she didn't have to do. Yet most of the facts were omitted and we still don't know what really happened. That's why I come here. In the hopes that somebody will come on eventually who knows something. If its pictures or video that would answer all my questions. It would turn me on. I think it would turn on 90% of men but only 25% will admit it even to themselves.
Compassion and Elitist, you spend huge amounts of time on this board and checking it has clearly become a daily or even hourly ritual for you both. But why are you here if not for the same reasons I listed above? You come here all the time and spend hours of your life because??? You seem to have dubbed yourself the troll slayers and morality police on this board but why would you be here if at some level you didn't want to watch a celebrity journalist get gangbanged against her will. It's like a good car crash. You know it's terrible but you can't take your eyes away.
Right to your own image doesn't exist here. Or in most other countries. I can't speak for austria. Just look at all the tabloids who print embarrassing pictures of celebrities sunbathing and the myriad other issues. She was in a public place and had no reasonable expectation of privacy. Nothing illegal about owning or posting. period.
