It means, basically, being so stupid that you think you aren't stupid. Not only are you too stupid to recognize smart; you're so stupid that you assume that someone smarter than you must be like you, only more so.

You just described the poster "ferret".

NEWSFLASH LOSERS: You don't have a 140+ IQ. Only a tiny fraction of the population has an IQ that high, and no matter what type of self-selection bias you think is shown in posters here (unlikely to be any, frankly), there's NO FUCKING WAY more than one poster here could conceivably have an IQ that high. Even that is highly doubtful.

The forces of natural selection are optimizing processes, so life, being composed of a myriad of evolutionary processes, should be viewed optimistically.

Spanky doesn't burn any more calories than any man his height. In fact, he burns less since he's more lethargic.

This is the biggest illusion fat people have.

Does this make sense to you:

"I'm fat, so therefore I need to eat more."

Of course not. It's the addiction talking.

One with an IQ of 140, but a marginal amount of ambition.

One with an IQ of 100, but a laser focus on achievement and success.

The second person will come out on top every single time because people are inherently social animals. The willingness to network and be an agreeable person will trump raw brainpower in almost every conceivable scenario.

Case in point, Carly Fiorina.

I have received a high score on the stanfrod-binet test. I have received subpar scores on aptitude tests. Yet I am in grad school, and am kicking ass on on activity.

Obama says some really stupid things from time to time. Not that I don't... but I don't have speech writers working around the clock for me.

As smart as I am, I still make dumb choices, and that's why I'm here on FC on a Friday night.

I took the Stanford Binet test and actually scored a bonafide 135. The highest that test went at the time was 150. After 150, it was an educated guess. That makes sense, considering that 150 or higher is several standard D's beyond the norm. You can test outliers, you can only estimate them.

However, I have taken the Mensa online test and scored like a 121.

It's complete bullshit.

99% of what you need, intellectually, resides in your ability to network with others. To build allies, relationships, build debits on the social debit/credit system.

Take a look at Joe Biden or George W. Bush. Each man possesses marginal intelligence. They simply aren't bright at all and possess far less intellectual capacity than Obama. However, these men possess genius level intellects at connecting with and stimulating the common voter.

And Obama graduated from Harvard Law School and was Editor of the Harvard Law Review. And he graduated with honors. Even if he was an affirmative action admission you still need a basic level of IQ to perform these roles. I'd say he has at LEAST an 125 IQ. Bare minimum.

The average IQ in grad school is supposedly 125. Although I typically destroy my comrades academically, creatively, and innovatively (true!), I typically get subpar scores on standardized tests.

Which means that IQ tests largely do NOT measure intelligence, and the GMAT as well as the GRE do not measure aptitude.

These salaries are not out of the norm. I have looked at this list of salaries and have personally determined that they are most adequate.

They are most adequate because to attract and retrain talent is expensive.

Nevada is in a position to retain top talent and to pay for top talent.

This is a state which desperately needs to acquire and obtain top talent.

Can you be a top professor, a top fire chief, a top administrator, a top personnel?

Maria is not even a Janitorial Crew Supervisor, just job title "Janitor".

Meanwhile, bilingual elementary school teachers are paid $30,000 a year after 6 years of higher education. Makes sense. Got to keep those priotities straight.

And while firemen are surely important, as are police, some of those salaries are outrageous.

54k a year for a supervisor is not outrageous.
