The essay on eighteenth century satire, I took a devil's advocate stance on the accepted belief that the satirists of the time were misogynists due to their "unkind" way of portraying women.
I argued that rather than simply treat them as objects of beauty, these descriptions made them at least more human, and might make a man search for the true soul in a woman instead of simply marrying for beauty - which because of this less objectifying way of thinking about women makes them true feminists. I used Pope's "To a Lady" and Swift's "Strephon and Chloe".

I haven't had the marks back from that one yet, so we'll see how it flies.
