I have always corrected the errors of others, even if it was not in my best financial interest.

One time, we had dinner at a fancy restaurant in Scottsdale and, instead of signing the credit card slip, I signed a "room charge" slip by mistake.

Found out later when the charge never cleared. Wrote them a note with a check to cover the bill.

I received a nice hand-written letter from the manager along with a $100 credit for a future meal, which we used in about 6 months.

Also, I had a credit card charge for ~ $80 at the Coffee Company near LAX which never cleared. Wrote to them and sent them a check. Seems their credit card processing was down for the entire day and I was one of 3 people who made amends. They sent a $100 credit, too, with a thank you from the owner.

A huge worm, the size of your middle finger, in some soup at a Vietnamese restaurant. They took the bowl and brought us a "new" one, which looked like the same soup minus the creature.
