Ray Manzarek -- who co-founded "The Doors" with Jim Morrison in 1965 and played keyboard -- has died, this according to the band's official Facebook page.
Manzarek was 74.
According to the website, Manzarek passed away today at the RoMed Clinic in Rosenheim, Germany after a lengthy battle with bile duct cancer.
At the time of his death, Ray was surrounded by his wife Dorothy and his brothers Rick and James.
Along with Jim ... Ray and The Doors churned out some of the most iconic rock songs in history -- including, "L.A.Woman," "Break On Through to the Other Side," "The End," "Hello, I Love You," and "Light My Fire."
Doors' guitarist Robby Krieger released a statement saying, "I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my friend and bandmate Ray Manzarek."
He added, "I'm just glad to have been able to have played Doors songs with him for the last decade. Ray was a huge part of my life and I will always miss him."
Our daughter went to the exclusive private HS in our area. We were proud that the girls there competed to see who spent the **least** on prom night. They shopped an outlet store in San Francisco for dresses. NOBODY used a limosine. This was in 1996.
I doubt anything has changed at that school since.
Yes. Steve Martini. Used to work with me. Now livin' large in Bellingham, WA
He was a hard working guy and the only attorney to own a computer back in the 80s.
I recognize several of the characters in his books, including his lead character, Paul Madriani. He is based on a now deceased attorney we both worked with.
Don't remember this fucking guy at all. His schtick is stammering??
He played the lovable drunk as a character actor in TV variety shows and a few movies from about mid-19060s to very early 70s.. As drunk driving and drunks became despised, his and his schtick disappeared.
We saw him in Vegas as a warm up act back in the 70s. Funny routine.
Ted creates a press release every week, each more crazy than the last.
What, exactly, is crazy about upholding and enforcing our immigration laws? What is crazy about not rewarding muds who have illegally entered our country?
To an old white southerner, prolly nothing.
For a politician with a reputed national eye, everything.
No, I mean that if you're an American citizen, why wouldn't you want our immigration laws to be enforced? Why would you want to reward people who have broken our laws to enter the country? Why wouldn't you want to deport the people who are in the country illegally?
That's simplistic AM radio talk.
Perhaps I might make money on undoc labor. Or, I might not to want to pay the enormous cost of massive deportation. Or, the issue is completely unimportant to me. Or my church preaches tolerance.

The magnetic tape in the 8-tracks was specially made by 3-M. It had greasey graphite lubricant on it so that it would not jam while winding onto itself.
Same stuff used in Fidelipack carts used for radio station jingles and ads.
