I never feel more alert and aware of my existence, more alive, than in the thrill of exploration. i used to do stuff like that with my brothers and friends when we were kids. we were all obsessed with pen-and-paper role-playing games like dungeons & dragons. we would act everything out in the forests. primeval forests, with mountains, and rivers, and the ocean ... it was pretty neat.

it's a shame we can't get married. just for the fuck of it, i would definitely wake you up in the middle of a totally forgettable week night -- like a tuesday, at 1:30am, in the middle of summer -- and take you questing.
