I've been to a tractor pull in Virginia, close to Charlottesville. It was a great day, and, yes, the girl drivers were competing with the men quite handily. I think some of the guys they competed with were their dads, brothers, and uncles.

I wonder how many people today are actually capable of sitting in a chair in the shade outside and sipping a regular human sized glass of lemonade for an hour. No phone, no other people. That used to be relaxing but now for most it is torture.
