While it is impossible to know what medical history LL had since the attack happened i am pretty sure it was fixed. AIDs...well. We just dont know. Very likely she got very lucky and nothing came out of it.
I do not think she has that much troubles in Groups...more precisely she may have problems with certain groups/crowds. Mixed crowds i don not believe to be a problem. Crowds consisting only of men? Yeah that may be a great problem. The problem with overseas reporting is that pretty much every job that would be offered to her would entail highest risk. So even if she is pretty much okay that does not mean she can just shrug the shoulders and go to Syria or South-Sudan.
Well actually she MAY have BEEN hurt in the face very likely. But there was nothing broken. Now black eyes and swollen cheeks and maybe one or two broken teeth can be EASILY repaired no questions asked. Docs can fix that in four days easily and then she was at home and we do not know how she looked a) just after the assault b) after the hospital care in the US c) after a few days/one or two weeks after the assault while recuperating in her home.
That makes sense...i mean it is a good argument why she wasnt seriously injured especially in the easily recognizable parts of her body (face) I mean no broken bones? That is pretty hard to believe of an crazed crowd.

Well participation in this regard is obviously still rape. But you are right when the footage is showing certain actions it could confuse and irritate people of low intelligence and poor upbringing. That is truly tragic and most horrible. That is the danger of pictures and videos: Taken out of context they often lead to misunderstandings and false readings.

I dont like it. Its too naive in its very own way. What, he has problems believing they waited four to five days to report anything? They were in bloody shock! What does he think these people at CBS are? They are still only human. Or the reality of the situation that Journalists tend to protect their own when under gruesome fire (like firefighters, soldiers and the like)
I acknowledge that many journos are shit. But why do we always depict them as not feeling anything? As having no emotions whatsoever? We acknowledge bloody marines feeling quite a bit when fighting on some hamburger hill but when some journalist gets gruesomely assaulted the colleagues are supposed to react with indifference and laughter? To be critical of Journalists is one thing i am all for it but to refuse them basic emotions and basic morality is just the other extreme of the coin.
That is because you kinda UNDERESTIMATE Journalists. That is a cute phenomenon in this age. Just because there are bitter and cynic and morally dysfunctional journos running around screwing people over that does not mean journalists are Idiots or incompetent. Neither do the blunders some secret services make (CIA, Mossad) eliminate the fact that they are pretty competent in obtaining information or killing people.
I would say it is a 90/10 or 80/20 chance that CBS has some sort of material. There is a slightly higher chance that CIA or secretary of state has material. CIA and their affiliates would know much more about the way the material connects to the source of the attack i think.
When you are confronted with obstacles like a large city sprawling over a huge terrain then you have to work systematically and methodically. What seems like a huge obstacle would be chipped away. We do not know much about how foreign correspondents work...with their contacts. Remember most of them speak basic street Arabic more or less fluently.
In fact i believe that they found much very early and then they just stopped digging. Because there was no urge to find more. It was deemed unnecessary and damaging to Logan and CBS and to western Journalism as a whole. So they just took a step back. But seriously if these guys and gals would want it we would know everything about the sources of the attack by now.
