The guy who runs THR doesn't seem too bad. He supports a lot of shit the other gun sites don't. I really don't read any of them anymore on a regular basis. I was in a frenzy of reading about and buying gun stuff from 2007 to 2008, but I kinda burned out on it.
I wonder whatever happened to that guy from 2008 or so. The one who claims his AR-15 "accidentally" went into full auto at a range. Then the feds came to his house and found books and papers on how to machine FA parts, etcetera. He was posting on a number of messageboards trying to garner support. I know for a fact he was telling his story on Glocktalk, and he was probably on ARFCOM, too.
I can't take the dumb on gun messageboards. I love guns, and own a dozen or so (but rarely shoot them.) I haven't bought a gun in over a year now, after buying tons in 2008.
I probably consider myself slightly left of center, maybe, depending on how you look at it. I'm liberal on social issues, gay marriage support, pro-abortion, etcetera. I'm more conservative financially, whatever that means.
I can't take people on gun messageboards. They're willfully fucking stupid about nearly everything, especially politics, and they're xenophobic idiots. That, and the fact the same questions get asked over and over again. The on-topic parts of the boards aren't typically too bad if you're searching for some specific information. Just don't wander into general discussion or political areas unless you like banging your head against the wall.
Back when I was in highschool, I had a Puerto Rican friend whose house I used to go to. He couldn't speak a fucking word of Spanish, despite the fact both of his parents were fluent, and even spoke it regularly. His parents both grew up in PR and later joined the military and moved to mainland US.
He had two sisters, one could speak it, the other couldn't.

The fact of the matter is, of any car manufacturer, most of the cars they sell do not have problems. The people who do have problems are going to be vocal about it. There are plenty of VW diesels on sale on E-bay with 150K+ miles.
