A branch just came off a tree in the back of my house and hit it with a big thud. No damage, but it made a hell of a lot of noise.

Fire Department is running around inspecting trees. My neighbor has a dead elm tree that could probably take out his and my house if it falls this way. They might end up just sawing it down, and charging him a small fortune.

That happened in my backyard a few years ago, massive tree came down in a windstorm. It ripped out the powerlines and flung them on the houses across the street ( ). We're lucky it fell in the opposite direction or we would have been squashed.

The power line still has a piece of the tree that grew around it hanging from it.
