Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) emerged this week atop a list of congressional representatives whove paid family members fees and salaries from their campaign war chests, congressional offices and political action committees, with one ethics advocacy group highlighting him for paying more of his relatives over the last two election cycles than any other member of the House.

The iconoclastic Texas libertarian has been on the campaign trail almost perpetually since his failed run at the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, taking in more than $34 million in the 2011-12 election cycle alone. While hes already spent most of that, with just $2.5 million on hand as of his last Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing, a total of $304,599 went to six of Pauls relatives, according to an analysis of public disclosures released Thursday by the Center for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW).

That dubious distinction means Paul paid more of his family members than any other person in Congress, although other representatives paid fewer relatives even higher dollar amounts.

As a politician, his job is to represent the will of the people. He doesn't do that at all.

It's the sour grapes of a bitter old man and career politician who was unable to accomplish ANYTHING.

It's well documented that Ron Paul is completely out of touch with the average American many, many times. His perspective means squat.

Untrue.

I will say that if the GOP continues down its current path, you'll see moderates like Christie becoming independents. They will have to in order to get elected.

So much of the young vote went to Obama. Romney only got something like 37% of under 20's and didn't break the 50% mark until the 40's and 50's. I'd be more nervous about that than anything else if I was a Republican. Their base is dying off.

Trump?
Christie?
someone else?

Christie, maybe. From the very start of the Republican primaries I got the sense that they weren't even trying. The fact that batshit insane radicals like Santorum, Bachman and Paul beat out the relatively sane like Huntsman and Cain was weird.

Someone suggested that they were worried that they'd simply inherit the shitty economy and lose again in 2016, so they were holding their cards to their chest until Obama was gone.

Same with McCain and Palin.

Maybe Republicans should run with The Chair as VP.

Based on the white debt that lead to the economic and housing crash, I'd say that whites "wanting stuff" has already done it's damage.

Oh please.. even Republicans dislike Romney. He was hardly a front-runner from the start in his own party. He was the "best of the worse".

Apparently she wasn't unfamiliar with the concept of having 3 dicks in her at once.

Just another fake, unattractive, 40-something American whore. This is what you idiots are obsessing over.

In 2008, she became a tabloid target when, while in the midst of a divorce from husband Jason Siemon, and reportedly romancing CNN reporter Michael Ware, she became pregnant by Joe Burkett, a U.S. government contractor in Iraq, who, at the time, was himself married.
