In my experience, drama queens, people who over-react to minor problems, tend to get pushed out of well-managed organizations. Or else more mature colleague will discourage this sort of behaviour.

If, on the other hand, such drama queens manage to dominate the politics of the organization, you will never be happy there and you need to consider leaving.

The OP's doesn't sound like a well managed operation.

"I made the statement, do you think myself, that lady and that gentlemen should pay for your cigarettes? "

That is the offense, not refusing to sell cigarettes.

So you were able to get my function def into Mathematica and verify it?

Pretty sad when the only other answers all required procedures to get the solution.

So much for the Apollo-era thinking, I guess.

Sorry, no. I haven't reinstalled Mathematica yet.

LetsGetPhysical said:Yeah, but where was the Kewpie Doll?

I mean. NO FUCKING KEWPIE DOLL?

If you want your puzzle this time to be a bit more challenging, ask instead what sized cubic container would be needed to hold the equivalent amount of sand in the original answer.

I copied it directly off the textbook.

PM me your address if you want a kewpie doll.

Not going to bother this time.

This problem is not worth your time.

I am not sure why you have an objection about the previous problem. Your solution was correct and I congratukated you on it.

Your boss is a douche. This was the thing thing to do. You should look for another job.

He had the correct formula. Yes.

I will post a couple of links later. Previous experience will get you to the interview. That is about it.

That's why I said talk to manager. Managers are supposed to back you up in such cases, and he would know the politics better than OP.

As I said, it is a power play, and sometimes escalating rather than backing down is the only way out.

BTW, the VP is not your department VP, right? Talk to your manager. Maybe he would want o take it up with your department VP that this other big kahuna is trying to interfere in his bailiwick.

What laplace equation, and what does it have to do with this problem?

If you actually solved the original problem, try solving it for grains which are cubes of side 100 microns.

I don't think we ask physics questions, or at least they are not going to be a significant part of the interview.

I did fail a physics/cs double major who said light can go around the earth "a million times" a second, but mostly because he couldn't code either.

And... I won't discuss actual interview questions here. They are confidential.
